Hi, I’m Dr. Brooke Kaufman
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist based in Los Angeles, California. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and earned my doctorate from the Wright Institute in Berkeley. I specialize in anxiety, perfectionism, ADHD, imposter syndrome, and burnout.
Many of my clients come to me feeling like they have it all together on the outside, but on the inside, they're struggling to keep up. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to handle the pressure, I’m here to help.
Together, we’ll explore the roots of your challenges. I’ll be there to help you deepen your understanding of who you are, what you need, and how to care for yourself in new, intentional ways. We’ll look at your relationships—what’s working, what isn’t—and discover how you can connect more meaningfully with yourself and others.
My approach integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. For couples, I also incorporate the Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
I’m an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist with experience working with people from a variety of racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds. I invite you to bring all parts of yourself to our work together, and I’m committed to providing a safe, supportive space where you can explore your identity without judgment.
Before starting my private practice, I worked at the Berkeley Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic, the San Francisco VA, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, and Atwater Village Therapy. I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan and have developed specialized skills in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum struggles, and conducting psychological assessments.
